Introduction to Exchange Server 2010

To install exchange  Server 2010, you need to firstly extend the schema. You can do this by using these commands and to achieve this you need to be a member of the schema, enterprise, and domain admin groups.

setup /PrepareSchema
Setup /PrepareAD /OrganizationName:ZA
setup /PrepareDomain

NB: Exchange Server 2010 is available only in 64-bit edition and you can make the best of it, if you install it in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2. Before installing exchange 2010, you have to install its pre-requisites.

The Initial configurations are as follows: Configure “NetTcpPortSharing” service to start automatic. and install the “Microsoft Filter Pack”

Now you should be able to kick off the exchange server 2010 installation from the setup.
